My newest pattern release - Cute Smiling Poop!

by Ange Rattai

.

This past summer I have had all kinds of people from toddlers to teachers requesting I make these cute little amigurumis for them, they have been especially popular with the texting crowd, since they look so much like the smiling poop emoji.  I have now released the pattern for a modest amount, so you can make them too, whether it be for a cute stocking stuffer, or a great conversation piece for your desk at work.
I'm thinking of decorating a few with santa hats to give away on the holidays.  I've included instructions on how to increase or decrease these these little stinkers so you can create Door stops, or even a version you can hang from your rear-view mirror or backpack.
The inspiration for making these actually came from a couple of different places, the emoji, didn't happen to be one of them, cause I don't tend to send a lot of smilies in my texts, but did in fact come from a set of stickers I purchased, which they called "Funny Frosting", which I am sure is tongue-in-cheek, as everyone who looks at them saw the same thing I did!

Also, apparently Canada loves the smiling poop emoji more than any other country, I read an article about that on CBC, and it motivated me to make these, since I figured they would make a good gag gift.  Once I posted a picture about it to my local handmade facebook group, it kind of went bananas, and I had lots of orders to fill!
I can make one of these in about an hour and a half now, and all you need is some polyfil stuffing, a couple of 9mm safety eyes, and some yarn or felt for the smile, along with a 3.75 mm hook, and some worsted weight brown yarn and you are good to go!     The secret behind the sucessful shaping of this amigurumi is the stuffing and sewing, it is all crocheted in one piece, but you sew through the entire object once it is completed to make it nice and tight; flat on the bottom, and round everywhere else so it sits nicely next to your monitor or on a shelf.    Want to make your own?  Grab the pattern on Ravelry and let me know how you do!  Click the link below to get to my pattern.  Enjoy!
